Raymond J Kusturin (BE Civil MIEAust CPEng NPER), Principal Civil Engineer
Ray joined Henry & Hymas in 1989 and his duties include Structural Project Director, site supervision and engineering design. Examples of projects under Ray’s direction include:
- Ford Motor Extension, Broadmeadow VIC $50M
- Raymond Terrace Market Place - $20M
- Beenleigh Market Place - $25M
- ING Property Trust Office & Warehouse - $10M.
In the capacity of Structural Department Manager, Ray has been responsible for the design of a variety of engineering approaches such as:
- Precast & Tilt-Up Concrete Walls
- Unreinforced & Reinforced Concrete
- Structural Steel
- Construction Systems
- Ultra Floor & Rytek Walls.
WATER
Dr Lars Herngren, PRINCIPAL WATER ENGINEER
Lars received his PhD in the area of stormwater quality from QUT in 2005 after a Master of Engineering from Sweden, specializing in hydraulics.
Lars main occupational experience has been as Design Manager of CDS Technologies since 2005 who were acquired by Rocla in 2007. Lars has exceptional depth of knowledge in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using a variety of software packages such as DRAINS and HEC-RAS as well as pollution modeling using MUSICR. Major design projects include:
- Sydney International Airport –Three gross pollutant traps with associated diversion works
- Sydney Environmental Improvement Program – Sydney Water – Hydraulic design of 4 Gross Pollutant traps and diversion works in channels
- Hunter Water –9 Gross Solid Separators for screening of sewer overflow at Burwood Beach (Hydraulic, Product Application Design and Process)
- Rocklands Reservoir Carp Screens
Lars has written several professional journal papers and conference papers and is a Member of the Institution of Engineers and Member of the Stormwater Industry Association.
CONSTRUCTION
Peter Warren (BE Civil, LGE), PROJECT MANAGER
Formerly the Engineering Manager for CDS Technologies (Rocla P/L) Peter has niche expertise in the provision of D&C water/sewer treatment solutions. Responsible for all CDS Design, Construction and Maintenance for Australia and Asia Licensees over a 10-year period and with a Certificate in Local Government Engineering, Peter is well positioned to understand Client needs and match solutions accordingly.
Some of Peter’s recent projects are as follows:
- Sydney Airport Carpark Gross Pollutant Traps $1m 2006/7
- Kogarah Water Recycling Trial – 2006; planned and project managed a successful trial of recycling raw sewage extracted from a local sewer main to produce irrigation water for Belerley Park Golf Club and Kogarah Council. This process used CDS Technologies Fine Solids Separator plus a Biological process and Disinfection. The trial has led to a $2.5m contract for CopaWater (now Eimco Water Pty Ltd).
- Sydney Water Stormwater Environmental Improvement Program - 4 projects $1.5m – 2004 to 2006
- Sydney Olympic Park Authority Install 30 CDS Gross Pollutant Traps 1997 to 1999.
